Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev secured his first title for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a former world number one, has endured a challenging year, managing just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in particular - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.

Now working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive win over challenger Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's initial trophy since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt after March of the previous year.

Success also means the Russian has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one various events.

"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters together, so to get a championship is really nice," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, comprising in Halle in the past months.

The player's defensive play style and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had caused some to doubt if his capacity to play at the top level was over.

However the player has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an improved serving game.

Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his first professional victory, took control to force a third set.

Moutet defended 4 initial opportunities in a close deciding set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he earned victory with a rally at the net area, with his opponent failing to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
